I'll Cut....

We were at the local Deli and decided to share a hot dog. I reached for the plate and a knife. "I'll cut and you choose." The words (and concept) came straight from my childhood -- an eminently fair way of dividing and sharing with others. The resolution and avoidance of possible conflict. I pondered the similarities between "I'll cut and you choose" and dispute resolution techniques. A lesson from childhood that lasts a lifetime. Consider, for example, the Baseball Arbitration Clause in which each side submits its number and the arbitrator picks the one that he/she feels is right. Much has been written about the psychology of the methodology. So, cut carefully.

Sometimes the correct $# can be closer to one end. We experience when my client succeeded vs MTA in 2012.
