Tweeting

Categories
Tech News

My children tweet. Apparently, they tweet all the time. In addition, they use Twitter to get their news and information about most important events.

I have tried to tweet. The opportunity to potentially communicate with someone I would normally not be able to reach is very intriguing to me. But the approach to tweeting intimidates me. I have a Twitter name. Yet, every time I go on to Twitter there are numerous conversations that are going on and I am unsure how to enter the discussion. Apparently, numerous people follow me on Twitter even though I have not, yet, had much to say. Nor, have I asked them to follow me.

Do you Tweet? If so, what do you use it for, news, networking, conversation, etc? Can you help me enter the dialogue?

Happy Labor Day Gotham!!!

I tweet to share information, including my blog, columns, client works; I share information I think relevant including news articles. My twitter handle is @bearak. I receive many news alerts via email but still find information via twitter particularly midday and later in the day useful. It also becomes a good way to stay in touch with people I need to interact professionally.

I am relatively new to it too and use it primarily to learn breaking news and I do tweet my blog. Happy stormless LD to you too!

I'm a fan of Twitter, though I still don't utilize it as much as I could. Twitter was the news breaker for "Sully in the Hudson" among other news. You can't beat people on the street for up to date info. Great tool for sharing info and building your list.

I don't use Twitter much...I used to be a Facebook guy but have been transitioning to LinkedIn. If you have multiple social media outlets you can use an app like hootsuite and make one post that will automatically post to all of your social media accounts. Furthermore, if you're posting an article (because twitter only allows 160 characters) you can use the site www.bit.ly to create a unique "short link" to save you some space.

I use Twitter along with my other social media accounts to share information about my business and what's going on in NYC. My Twitter handle is @lizsaldananyc. I've also started using Lists on Twitter. I have one for Gotham to easily keep track Gotham members' tweets so I can like/retweet them to help expand their reach on Twitter. I've also used it for breaking news.

I've tried but I don't really understand how to make it work. I have followers and I follow, but whenever I open it, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of information.
