Through the Eyes of a Child

Last weekend, Flo and I took our grandson, Jackson, to the Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden.

For an hour or so, I looked at the world through the eyes of a three-year-old. I shared his amazement as the G-scale trains circled the reconstructions of the great sites of New York City, past the historical buildings and over the famous bridges. I waved “Hi!” and “Bye-Bye” as the trains passed. I wove through crowds of people who were no obstacle between me and the next train that I had to see. I thrilled at my freedom in a new, exciting and spectacular place. And I was content to sit and watch that special train go by just one more time.

Through the eyes of a child. Absorbing it all. Reacting without constraint.
There are so many amazing things around us. Take a child and see the world through his eyes.

Little known fact, young Jefferson Crowther rode on Walt Disney's trains before he had the idea for Disneyland.

It was such fun to watch you with Jackson enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood, even if only for a few hours. I now understand why grandchildren are such a blessing!
