Elusive Sleep

There has been a lot of talk in my house recently about sleep habits. Most people I talk to complain about not getting enough sleep.

Here is the debate though. Television or no television?

I need the distraction of mindless television to take my mind off a long day. The men in my house would say the same thing, although I am reasonably sure it is having the opposite effect for my son.

Are you a bedtime tv person?

My TV is in my home office but occasionally I receive permission to take control of the bedroom TV. Before marriageing up headphone my music also played in the bedroom. While I can connect to most of my music library via my iPhone and bring a bluetooth speaker there, I do not believe it would work; and bringing up headphones might send the wrong message (though I could consider leaving a set up there. In terms of the music the lack of the FM personalities I enjoyed during the so-called overnight shifts play a role.

I like to read before I go to sleep. Watching TV is too much stimulation, especially if it an exciting show. I can't turn it off & I have to watch to the end.

It depends on the show. If it's exciting, it will keep me up.
