What's Your Costume?

Categories
Holidays

On the eve of Halloween I know what my costume will be.  It will be the same as always: Count Dracula.

I choose the Count because, in a small way, I feel a harmless, but important kinship with him as I draw sustenance from interacting and conversing with people: networking, if you will.  Without such sustenance I would be rudderless and lost and I do not think I could exist on a deserted island.

What's your costume and why?

Happy and safe Halloween!

Rituals...you love rituals.
No costume here, I plan to go to Lincoln Center to watch some horror flicks!
Last time I dressed up, I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Fun!!

a wedding in a farmhouse dictates my costume. Garb will be heavily influenced by presence of Mets in Worlds series. Folks have seen that blue and orange striped tie and the orange hanky (some call it a "pocket square"). The date dictates a black shirt that rarely (sort of) makes it out of the closet.

I will be standing by the door trying very hard not to sample the chocolate as I give out the candy. So, no costume.

I will be clad in a MOST terrifying costume: That of a suburban father of three, wearing a cardigan sweater, with flat feet and a large nose giving out non-healthy snacks to unsuspecting children. BWWWWHAHAHAHAHA!

Halloween 1989 we were recovering from The Loma Prieta Eartquake which devastated San Francisco and centered 3 miles from our home. We opened our road to the mountain as a safe haven for the kids to enjoy the holiday . Our Harley gang consisting of Neil Young , Graham Nash Skunk Baxter of the Doobies and Steve Wozniak of Apple provided music and security and a few Hells Angels always stop by for , well , you never know . Now the tradition continues . Diane cooks beef stew in a huge pumpkin served with Jack Daniels in the bottle ! I wear a sleeveless shirt and leather chaps and sit astride my hog while Joe and Jennifer Montana cook beef ribs . This year I have a new toy called my wheel chair. It's a freaking luxury vehicle and now thank God I use it as such as I'm walking with a cane now. Who would have thunk ? Last year we had 400 trick or treaters . Remembering we live in an isolated mountain community. Dogs and kids from all over the Santa Cruz mountains and music you can hear for miles .
We have a rule up hereby the way...nobody goes into the woods without a big dog or two for escort
