A squirrel in crisis

Another wierd but true story from our planet. A squirrel was "detained" when a woman called police to complain it was stalking her.

A panicked woman was unable to shake the rodent in the western German city of Bottrop, so she turned to the authorities in desperation on Wednesday, police told Reuters.

The police took in the squirrel and found it was suffering exhaustion.

Officers were helping the animal recover by feeding it pieces of apple and honey tea. The animal will be transferred to a local animal shelter once it has recovered, according to Reuters.

No word on whether the woman will file a restraining order.

Hopefully next week's blog will be a follow-up. Inquiring minds want to know. :)

Luckily for the exhausted squirrel the police were compassionate. That woman on the other hand must have been singing to herself the whole time that old hit song.."Somebody's watching me"

Do officers in Germany normally cary apples and honey for exhausted squirrels?
