My Guilty Little Pleasure

It’s time for my Gotham family to know my guilty little secret; I am a fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. For total accuracy, I should probably also confess that I am also a fan of The Real Housewives of New York and New Jersey.

While in Los Angeles recently, my family and I made lunch reservations at a restaurant in Beverly Hills owned by one of the Real Housewives. Given that it was a Saturday I never expected her to be there. My daughter, who is also a fan, and I shrieked when we saw her sitting at the front table. Upon meeting her I-who pride myself on maintaining complete composure in the most stressful of situations- was completely star-struck and babbled like a total idiot.

I call my Real Housewives viewing my guilty little pleasure because there really are no positive aspects to it other than just my amusement. There are no universal themes to contemplate, I just turn my brain off and watch.

When it comes to television shows lately my biggest pleausure has been the off button. I can't wait for baseball season to start again so I can find new and exciting plot twists wth the NY Mets reality show. It's going to be fun to see how they are going to get through the season with no one that knows how to play the outfield, no one who knows how to pitch from the bull pen and only a handful of guys who know how to swing a bat.

Cindy, we were at Villa Blanca. It's smaller than it looks on tv but the food was fabulous, including The Villa Blanca rose. And I have to say, they really work the restaurant. Ken was bussing tables etc. My only regret was, in my star struck haze, I neglected to ask him for a picture. He was really sweet.

I enjoy the old gladiator movies that featured Steve Reeves who was famous for playing Hercules. I also enjoy the sometimes campy Hercules The Legendary Journeys that one can find in reruns on The Hub (Ch22 on Timewarner in Queens). If attending concerts are a guilty pleasure, that word on me is widely out among tribal members.

Rona, I love Ken as well. The are the ultimate power couple who really work hard. I see that in Vanderpump Rules. All day I was dreaming about the shoes Lisa is wearing in your picture. I know, I have a problem.
