We ordered lunch into the office on Friday. Without even looking at the menu for the deli we were ordering from I placed my order with my secretary, “Greek salad with grilled chicken, no dressing; diet iced tea. Snapple diet half iced tea half lemonade if they have it.” My secretary laughed and encouraged me to look at the menu. To appease her, I glanced at the menu. I then looked at her and said, “Greek salad with grilled chicken, no dressing; diet iced tea. Snapple diet half iced tea half lemonade if they have it.”

It was my turn to laugh when I heard my secretary say to my office manager, “Rona will have her ‘go to’ lunch.”

Up here in "The Hinterlands", as Fred refers to Connecticut, we've got six or seven local food purveyors of many stripes. One of our favorites is called "Ole Mole", and it has the most delicious Mexican food, and extremely nice people work there. I bet we take out food from them at least once a week. There's also a pan-Asian restaurant that uses no MSG, and the food is very fresh. Around the corner is an excellent Thai place called "Little Buddha". Then there's Bar Taco, which serves delicious Americanized Mexican. And for good ol' American sandwiches, there's Seasons down on Bank Street. And for special occasions (there's no take out) we have Brasitas, which is pan-Latin food that is renowned throughout Fairfield County. Their shrimp with garlic sauce is second to none.
