If you ever had the pleasure of being with Bob Formica you can understand why I give him the appellation St. Formica. In my experience, he comes closest to being as I imagine a Saint would be.

He was kind, caring, giving, humble, funny, smart, loyal, good natured, unique, empathetic, thoughtful, naughty, fatherly and sweet.

It was for these and other reasons that do not come quickly to mind that we honored him in 2007 as Gotham's Networker of the Decade and memorialize him annually at the Bob Formica Golf Outing.

He was my banker and fellow Friar, but most of all my dear friend.

This blog is to both honor his memory and allow for an opportunity to display us together in the above photo of us sharing a holiday good time.

I miss you Bob. You were the best!

One of the reasons I love you. You are a MENCH brother ! To be your friend is an honor indeed ! When I look back at 2014 I include our special relationship as one of the highlights. You ascribe to Bob some characteristics we all should aspire to have in our "bank."
Interesting on the Rolodex comments. Do not recall when I finally dumped them but stopped updating it (really them) years ago. They even survived an office fire (kept them in my desk drawer). I kept the actual two Rolodexes longer than the cards I "recycled" (note to Ester and Raj: had shredded of course).

I had the pleasure of working with Bob at Sterling National Bank for many years. He became a role model to everyone he spoke to due to his unfailing positive attitude, sense of humor and ability to overcome every obstacle that was put in his path. I think of him fondly whenever I hear someone complaining about issues that he would have considered very minor. Thanks for the sweet memories.
