Big Bang Theory

Do you watch? I do. Actually, my whole house watches. Since an episode airs just about every thirty minutes, we watch a lot.

This show reminds of a quirky version of Friends, which I also watched religiously in its day. The ensemble cast has a rhythm uncharacteristic of such strong characters but it works here with great success. Repeatedly borrowing actors from another long standing sitcom “Roseanne”, it is interesting to watch them in new roles and interactions.

My favorite characters on the show are the mother as they stand in such stark contrast to each other. Leonard’s mom, played by Christine Baranksi, is the least maternal person you might imagine with an edge that could cut glass. On the other hand, Sheldon’s mother, played by Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne) is a devout religious woman who still cooks grilled cheese sandwiches for her scientist son. And, until recently Howard’s mom was played in voice by Carol Ann Susi, who never physically appeared on the show except for screaming directives to her son always from another room.

Are you a fan?

I like watching the show; but don't catch it as often as I'd like.

Always enjoy this show. Will miss Howard's Mom's screams, sadly Carol Ann Susi passed away. Wonder if they'll write an episode, tribute, dealing with 'her passing' and remembering some of the best lines. The other two Mom's are perfectly played, and the entire ensemble deserves the big bucks for becoming the next great "Friends" that we can actually learn many things from.

My wife and I watch it regularly. As a devoted geek I watch the show for the details. My wife, as a devoted non-geek, watches it to figure me out. It has something for everyone. Great show.

My brother in law is continually insisting that I would love it. I feel that I have waited too long to start.

Most libraries have the DVD collections of each season so you can catch up with the show.

Never watched but hard not to be aware of a program promoted heavily when I watch football.

Only show I ever heard of where they portray a character on the autism spectrum sympathetically. Love it.
