Another Fossil?
As the holiday season begins, I have tried to think of some creative gifts for my children. My daughter will be graduating with her Masters in Social Work in May, which requires a special gift. I approached her with the idea of purchasing an expensive watch as a combined gift for both Hannukah and her graduate school graduation. Her response, “That’s o.k. Mom, I don’t need a watch, I use my phone,” surprised me. When I looked at my other children for their response to her statement they shocked me by agreeing with her. Apparently, they all use their phones in place of watches.
I do not go anywhere without my watch on. Am I and my watch becoming outdated? Do you wear a watch?

My 20-year-old son wears a watch; his sisters, 23 and 15 do not wear one. Likewise with one of my partners.

I have many nice watches but they just seem impractical. The older I get, the less I care about jewelry for the sake of wearing something. I don't wear rings, bracelets, necklaces or watches anymore and don't miss it at all.
