Money, Fame or Power?

Categories
Lifestyle

The age old question is: If you could have one thing would it be money, fame or power?

What would it be for you and for what reasons?

I know what it is for me and will chime in at the end of the day.

Weigh in please!

Power. We talked about this on our way to Princeton.
Your answer cannot be power so you can receive fame and garner more money....

Actually at my age all i would want is money - not for it's own sake - but to share with others and to have experiences. There is nothing at this point that i would like to own - except maybe better camera equiptment so i could do my job better.I have had power/ and an ampount of fame in my circles - and it's over rated and comes with alot of responsibility.Above all of those - i want love and respect.

Great question!

Money. Then I would stop working and just travel. What a great thought for a busy Friday morning.
Shelley Simpson

I used three quotations to decide: Money isn't everything, but it ranks up there with Oxygen. "It's none of your business what other people think of you." "With power comes responsibility." Then I chose money because it is the tool with which I can serve others who might not even know who I am and for whom I choose to be responsible and from whom I don't want anything. Thanks for asking.

Fame? Nein, danke (no thanks). Power? Over what or whom? Nein, danke. Money? Yeah, that provides options. Worked too hard over many years and I have enough; I strive to be as anonymous as possible; all-the-while striving to be helpful. What do I really want? Hmm. At this stage of the game: Grandchildren, blonde and blue-eyed like my wife, her family's laser-sharp intelligence, and we'll name our first grandson Alfred Frederich Strauss Meyer for my late father-in-law, who I revered. Like his great-grandfather, he'll be known as "Freddie".

All the rest is trivial. WRM (what really matters)...

Reading other people's comments and I had a thought...Has there ever been a moment in history when people sought fame as much as some do now, yet others viewed it so distastefully?

My opinion: Fame is fleeting, Money is the cheapest medium of exchange and Power is Electric!
Corey Bearak

Sorry Fred. You often need money to achieve Power. Fame can be used to earn some cash and can be translated into power. Reality is one need at least two of the three to maintain power. Fame without one of the other two remains fleeting and temporary. And unless you get born into cash need to work hard to get something enduring in terms of Power or Fame. To me the real question is how one uses what they have.
