My Not So Guilty Little Pleasure
While I enjoy a morning cup of coffee, I am not a coffee connoisseur. I cannot tell by taste alone the difference between a dark roast, medium roast, or a light roast. So I was shocked when, in New Orleans, I became enamored with the coffee served at The Café Du Monde. I liked it so much that I brought two cans home with me. When those cans ran out, I began to order it on the internet.
I don’t drink the Café Du Monde coffee every day. Rather, I save it for the weekend. It’s just a little indulgence I give myself on weekends.
Do you indulge?

With that query disposed off, must state that I prefer hazelnut. It stems from my preference for Franjelica in my coffee; something that start around certain holiday like July 4th when we would open our family's Forest Hills liquor store for a few hours later morning through mid-afternoon. The manager or another salesman and I would arrive a bit early and get a sandwich and espresso from this nice shop next to the Midway Theatre and I'd open a little airline size bottle to add to my coffee. I often would add Franjelica to my coffee if we are out dining or at an affair. Thus the discovery of Int'l Delight Cinnamon Hazelnut creamer kind of helped me deal with the craving for the hard stuff. I also discovered Gevalia Coffee and its Hazelnut blend. Unfortunately Int'l Delight discontinued the Cinnamon Hazelnut creamer; plain hazelnut did not work for me.
More recently when Marisa was in for a wedding and we had family over, she and Jonathan brought some coffee from a place called Porto Rico. Jonathan recommended I try it; I checked out there offerings on line; to my delight (pun intended), they offered Cinnamon Hazelnut blends -- HEAVEN. I just reordered a pound each of Decaf and Regular -- I blend my intake.
My wife prefers her Dunkin' Donuts French Vanilla each morning and afternoon.
I have regular blends for company and for when Shelly hosts her mah jong game.

1/2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
1/2 oz Kahlua
1/4 oz Grand Marnier
fill with coffee
I didn't want to scare anyone off, but either or both the Bailey's and Kahlua can be increased to 3/4 oz and it most certainly can be poured over ice.
