Happiness -- A Personal Choice

Like Rona, I thought that this topic was going to be a cinch but in the end, I don’t think it is. What makes one person happy may be vastly different from what brings a smile to another. Sure, there are probably themes but when you dig down deep, where does happiness really come from for you?

For me, I call on life’s moments and so thought I would share a few:

  1. A glass of wine (very sweet of course), some cheese and crackers, my husband and close longtime friends at a pool in Montauk.

  2. My daughter’s acceptance to the college of her dreams

  3. Watching my son bond with two local kids with a sincere interest in helping them

  4. That feeling after giving a training program when you know you have connected to the room

  5. This year’s Gotham Golf Outing which demonstrated once again how far the reach of our family truly extends.

What would you put on your list?

[And, I could not end without a HUGE thank you to Norman Spizz and the entire Golf Committee for another fantastic event. We keep getting better and better!]

Waking up makes me happy. I don't think I'd enjoy the alternative.

Sitting outside on my deck on a warm summer day with a nice glass of wine after a day when I accomplished a lot. Love your blog, Nancy, and others comments as well.

Since you like sweet wine, query: have you tried Johanisberg Auslese Reisling -- sometimes called the honey wine. One of my faves but I do think I've had since my Uncle sold his Forest Hills Liquor store.
As to smiles,
breakfast or coffee or dinner with Shelly on our deck.
My daughter's wit (ask shelly about a certain Facebook comment) and our common love of music.
Jonathan's mastery of all things tech (but Raj and all you others do not worry, his plan is academia) and his amazing capacity to analyze
Listening to A Good Feelin' To Know, especially when it comes up (un-programmed) on the radio
two days in 1969, two days (I was there 2d to last one) in 1986.
John Fogerty performing Up Around The Bend live, especially last Nov. at the Beacon.
