Community (The Secret to Gotham)

Categories
Lifestyle

Nancy and I always say that, as to Gotham (our networking group), we have a "no plan plan", as we marvel at the incredible growth and reach of our Gotham community and power of our "It's better to give than receive, but what goes around comes around" philosophy.

Greater minds than ours might be able to explain it, but until then it has come to me that the secret to our Tribe's magnetism has something to do with Gotham providing a concrete form to the human longing for togetherness, coupled wiith unfettered opportunity for individual expression.

Do you have the same feeling or sense?

By and large our tribe offers much support and many opportunities to bond and build mutual and enduring relations.

I like the random surprises. I think of G0tham in terms of "Strange Attractors".

An attractor (quoting wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attractor) "is a set of physical properties toward which a system tends to evolve, regardless of the starting conditions of the system. Property values that get close enough to the attractor values remain close even if slightly disturbed." [not a reference to mental or emotional states]
...
"An attractor can be a point, a finite set of points, a curve, a manifold, or even a complicated set with a fractal structure known as a strange attractor. "

Nice graphics for Attractors here:

I agree. When I have something to offer to Gotham, it gives me a great feeling, and when I've needed an experienced and/or informed suggestion or even intervention (I remember when my friend's mother was in the hospital), I am grateful for having Gotham to turn to. Dana Charlton

I am thankful for Gotham every day of the week. Simply amazing...

Now, this is a blog topic. I think, in Gotham, we do for one another because we want to, not because someone is overseeing us.

Gotham City Networking Inc. has played a HUGE part in who you and I are to each other at this juncture. I can imagine other relationships have been nurtured as well. Besides.....It is a diversion from my usual MO on Fridays which is tracking down boney assed drugged out and tattooed chicks at the Plandome LIRR station. ! What's your diversion on Fridays !!! I told you I would somehow fit that in !!

Agree Fred! Our "magnetism" is like that in a family. We plan special events and moments to enjoy each others company, and help foster growth both personal and professional. We share the joys (births, graduations, etc.) and the sad/difficult times (illness, deaths...) to support each other and increase our unity.

Sad that so few read and commented on this blog.

Absolutely! I have only been involved with Gotham for a short while, but I can tell that this a strong community of like-minded individuals who are genuinely concerned for one another's well-being.
