Stupidstitions

I am not superstitious.  Then again...

When I board an airplane, there is a rule.  Right foot first.  And just before we get on board, Eve always will ask, "which foot again?" and I answer "right foot" and then I pretend I am stepping with my left foot but quickly put the right foot first.  I have also began tapping the outside of the fuselage as I step on, kind of like knocking my fist on the craps table.

So far this has worked.

I also have a stupidstition about throwing away my garbage.  We have a big garbage bin shared by the development.  I aim for the far left corner.  The better the hurl snuggly into that spot, the better my day will be.  After a perfect toss, I say to myself, "this is going to be a great day."

I have not yet had to climb into the bin to take out my garbage after a very poor toss.  Not looking forward to having to ever do that.

Happy Father's Day to all!

I always step with left foot first on a plane. It's my left sidedness taking over.

I always pray for a safe trip as the plane is taking off. I always try to enter and leave through the same door when visiting someone. Also, if I really want something important in my life to happen, I don't talk about it with anyone until it is a done deal.

All kind of silly, I admit. But, it's only strange if it doesn't work!

First; hope all Gotham Dads had a great Fathers' Day!

Not so sure I'd call it a "stupidstition" but I bless myself (make the sign of the cross) every time before take off as my plane starts to move. I also bless myself when I pull out of my driveway on my way to work. My way to 'ask' for a good day where I help some people and stay safe.

Most times I think not about 'stitions. That might be my own stupidstition. I like the phrase.
