   As I looked around the table at the 19 Gothamites and guests in the dining room deep below street level on East 54th Street, I thought about all the years of in-person Gotham networking meetings. 

     And I thought about Covid and the lockdown and Zoom. 

     And, as we went around the table, in-person, I thought about our transition, the future, and wondered.

I think about this in the classroom as well. I agree with Fred. There is a benefit to both, but we cannot get rid of in person. From an academic perspective, our students pass rates dropped dramatically when everything was online.

While Zoom is an absolute necessity for myriad reasons, nothing can replace the relationship value of a shared roundtable experience, or breaking bread one-on-one or in a group, as my twenty two years in Gotham attests.
