A Super Day?

Super bowl, Foothall, Jets,

Today represents for many one of those much watch TV days. Some for the pomp and circumstances. Others for the commercials. A few for the gala at half-time. And most for the main event, the Superbowl. I’ll watch. At time of this drafting, not exactly sure where (I can post in the comments for any who really ought to know.). My interest since my team seems to achieve excellence in avoiding participation for 50 years involves some charitable fundraising around the game.

My friend Ira devised (or uses) a system with ten ways to win; it helps you focus on the game and perhaps root for teams you may otherwise despite. It certainly succeeds on the fundraising side and generally keeps one attuned to the activity on the screen.

While I muse about the ability of next season’s New York Jets of New Jersey taking steps toward a return in my lifetime, I still revel in the results of the third Superbowl. I recall watching that game in our living room in Glen Oaks, sitting on a red reclining chair, tape-recording the game. I rejoiced in the outcome. Now I look at the game as just an occasion to help support the charities of the Kings-FDR Tolerance Foundation and enjoy the company of friends (except those times we opt, like last year to view the game in my home-office).

What plans do you have today? Watching the main event? Where? Inquiring minds want to know.

If taking in the game (or not), offer your predictions: Who wins? Predict the final score?

Yes, Brady is the greatest QB of all time. However, being in his division and seeing him win for 15 years, always getting favorable ref calls, have his team involved in cheating and his near constant smugness, I will be very happy when he retires. And I will not be rooting for him today.

Not watching for various reasons but let me mention two of them: 1. The Saints aren't in the game so it isn't the Super Bowl. 2. It ends too late.

Annual Super Bowl party. Nobody in my house will be rooting for New England.
The people who enjoy watching the game watch downstairs in our theater. For those who are not that interested, I usually provide an activity. Last year it was adult coloring books. This year rock painting.

I would even accept 4PM - with more commercials and half time show, it would end by 8 and then post game etc by 9...but 6:30 means 10:30 / 11 and post game - midnight

A lot to be said on principle but penalty will come up again with that outcome. Maybe the NFL “deserves” that outcome.

It's a house divided today. My hubs likes the Patriots. I'm over the Patriots. Go Rams! Wings, TV's ON in every room, push-ups and sit-ups contests in-between. It's a great day in the USA. Definitely the commercials, I'm with Victoria!

Rams over Pats. Montana and Staubach over Brady. Romo over both teams' play-callers. Baseball over football. Joy of the day over everything.

Hosting anyone? Or just hubby is his haunt and you in you “She She’d”?

Interesting as I have my own feeling about Montana that I submit his days with KC bear out.

From “Bob O”:
Duane Thomas, a great running back for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1970's ( I think), when asked what it felt like to be playing in the super Bowl described as the ultimate game:

"If it's the ultimate game, why are they playing it again next year ?"
-Bob Olivari (who is on leave while working for the council speaker.)

Being in LA changes the neaning of the game. I m surrounded by blue nd gold and have become a Rams fan, as long as they are not playing the Giants or the Jets. In the same way I have become a big Dodger fan, as long as they are bot playing thr Mrts or the Yanks.

Go Rams!

Rona thats so nice of you. Usually watch at a friends out with about a crowd of 20 many are not into watching the game. So it makes it hard for the others like myself to hear the game. Plus 3 years ago my dad passed away on this day. So not much in for a party. Watching from home along with the puppy Bowl. Will enjoy the game, commercials and you know Patriots will win. Well let’s see!! Enjoy everyone!!!!

Just us! SLIM my cat will be faithfully close, cheering against Brady
