It's All In The Game!

Last Friday the Batmen lost our season opening game 8 to 6. What's worse is that I walked someone with the bases-loaded and two outs to cost us the game.

I have carried that loss and that misstep with me all week and it haunts me, yet motivates me to do better in tonight's game.

I try to console myself with the thought that I should be appreciative of the fact that a person of my age is in a position to and capable of pitching for the Batmen and the fact that it's far better to lose the first game of the season than the last.

Also my son David was 3 for 3 in the game and let me off easy. We went to dinner after the game with the family which included my grandson Jackson who will be joining us on the Batmen in a week or two.

I look forward to being with them on the field at that time and screaming my victory cry: "It's great to be young and a Batman!"

It’s early in the season. Best to put this behind you and look forward to a great comeback.

You have an entire season to look forward to with your friends and your family, three generations, on one team what better? It’s hard, but remember the enjoyment you get out of being on the field with all of them. What an outstanding season you have ahead of you.

First of You were the Champions last season. Losing the first game - so what. Please don't let it ruin your wonderful life. Even if you lose the next million games - you will still go out to dinner with all three of your smart, beautiful, charming and healthy generations - that YOU created. Nothing beats that - NOt even the Batmen.

Dont pull a 'Harvey' focusing on the past; as you said appreciate where you are and the many wonderful games ahead. The team knows you're giving it your best and more importantly your family knows this and is there for you no matter what.

Must have been a tough moment for someone who can throw strikes! Did the ump squeeze you!
You seemed in good spirits yesterday at LI Gotham meet, but sure you were bummed last weekend.
Hope you get a chance to pitch tonight and feel good. Don't turn into a Betances!!

Mine too ! But he cut me for lack of speed . He was my gym teacher at East Hills when I was fast . I grew and lost my edge . He wanted guys that could steal .

I try to tell myself that, with each loss, we learn something. Not always easy.
