Clear the Heir

Categories

For the first time in history, thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013, Princess Charlotte, age 3, is now 4th in line to the Crown. She is still preceded by her father, her uncle and her older brother. Prior to the passing of the Act, her new born brother would have preceded her in the hierarchy. It simply states that the gender of a royal born after October 28, 2011 does not give that person, or their descendants, precedence over anyone else in determining the next monarch.

Long overdue, but done, none the less.

Royal Lineage

The Succession to the Crown Act was announced in 2013 but didn't take effect until 2015, making Monday's newborn the first member of the immediate royal family to be affected by its changes.

Prince Charles is the current heir to the British throne, which has been occupied by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, since 1952. Prince William is second, followed by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the new baby boy.

And Harry? He is #6 now.

(Thanks CNN.)

The upward course of a nation's history is due in the long run to the soundness of heart of its average men and women. _ Queen Elizabeth II

I remember the Queen's coronation and Hillary"s present!

I missed the coronation by a couple of years, but I am a CROWN.

Yes, Edmunds gift was wonderful, she certainly thought so, making him a Knight Commander of the British Empire.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, beat the Queen in a US "most admired" contest. She and Barack topped the lists. Her 16th win. His 10th.

It was a long time coming and the right decision. That little girl stole the show when she waved at the press while walking into the hospital. It will be interesting to watch her grow.

It was the human decision. We as a planet have many many more decisions like that to be made.
