Twilight Zone

Do you remember Rod Serling?  He was the creator of the amazing off the wall, but sometimes true to life, "Twilight Zone".

Twilight Zone was a strange mix of horror, science fiction, drama, comedy and superstition with many black and white episodes concluding with a surprise ending.

Well, many years have passed since Serling introduced an episode and yet I feel we have reentered the Twilight Zone.

Back in the Day there was no Tweeting.  There were carrier Pigeons and then Western Union telegrams.  People had time before they shot off an ill advised or self destructive message.

Today everyone has a device in hand and even I use Twitter (I have a meager 135 followers) and admittedly the instant gratification of broadcasting, connecting and garnering a response is addictive, but the President of the United States, who has 34 millions Twitter followers and can bypass  any moderating or filtering mechanism, is damaging his office and our Nation's world wide reputation.

Even my vehement friends across the aisle are speechless at best over his recent Mika face lift fest.  Cue the Twilight Zone theme music.

The Donald needs to give us a surprise ending and stop playing on Twitter and exit the Twilight Zone!

This was written before the CNN smack down tweet. Big meeting today with Putin could be the start of a surprise ending. Here's hoping!

It's tough for a Zebra to change it's stripes. Just hope that their might be more "commercial interruptions" (sanity) so we can get a break.

I hope he tweets himself into his very OWN deep and dark twilight zone - and please get out of ours !

We have to hope he does his best for all of us
Paul Napolitano

But they first called him a racist, a schmuck, a thug, a goon, an idiot, a liar, and they make an anti-Trump music video. This is OK? These are the co-hosts of a major news outlet. Shouldn't they be held to a high standard also?

So much for the blogs being a "Politics Free Zone". ;)

Honestly, I agree with your response to Judy, Fred. Whether you like him or not, he is our president and I think he deserves a chance. (The media hasn't given him one - except at the beginning when he was bringing in the ratings $. Then they loved him!) Half the country wanted this, half didn't. We had the opportunity not to vote for him if we didn't agree with his policies. But hoping he fails is like wishing the pilot of the plane you're in crashes. I hope he brings our economy back and keeps us and our children safe. I don't need to like him or have him for a friend. Most people who get into politics have the stomach for it - and aren't people with whom I would choose to hang out. And those whom I'd chose as friends probably wouldn't be the most effective politicians. Anyone watching House of Cards?? ;)
I wish Trump the best for all of us.

Thank you, Victoria. I totally agree with you and you said it so well.

I agree with others above, keep politics out of the blog world here. There are plenty of other places to express your personal political views.

Just the way he speaks about women.

I am definitely not in the Twilight Zone, I think that avoids being in reality. The reality for me is that more people have raised their consciousness and having taken more actions than in many many years, and for that I have hope and am grateful.
We all created this and we can all make it better.
There is so much good happening in the world that we never hear about.

Ok Fred . I'm taking a pass . Bringing politics into this blog spoils it for me . You can always count on a nasty gram from Mauer or somebody else . Maybe even me . Nope you taught me restraint but you make it hard . You can't leave it alone and keep stirring the pot . I'm out today.

Good work. Next week's is benign
Paul Napolitano

Stock market up 15%, Illegal immigration down 70%, Jobs way up, The energy sector about to explode… Etc. All they can talk about is who shook who's hand. I've given up trying to discuss it. I'm just going to enjoy the road to recovery. And, like you, I gave up on the Politics board and now I'm giving up on the political discussions.

I suspect we need more and better filters around these parts.
So far, Shelly and I got through three episodes of HOC's.
Rona Gura

I have a twitter account that I almost never use.

Everyone who knows me, knows my political views and my thoughts about our current president. Although, having read the blog, the thought of being able to correspond directly with someone I would normally have no access to sounds inviting.
