A Seat

Last weekend, Alexandria, Virginia. I followed as Flo and Jackson, our 4 and a half year old grandson, got on the free "Trolley" that makes its way up and down King Street in Old Town.

Flo found a seat on the front bench next to a pleasant looking woman with her child. They made room for Jackson on the bench as the Trolley started moving.

Then the women looked at me and asked if I wanted a seat. As I shook my head "No, thank you", I noticed the sign above the bench. "Please offer this seat to the disabled or elderly."

When I read Fred's blog of only a few weeks' ago - when he was offered a seat on the subway - I was appreciative of the fact that I had not yet been offered a seat. Little did I know that the offer was destined to come so soon.

It was so hard not to laugh out loud....the look on your face said it all! But I think that lovely lady, who was not so young herself, was just being kind....you are Forever Young!
