Clearing My Head

Categories
Lifestyle

Professionally, I had a difficult week last week;  juggling several court appearances, late nights at the office, and a few emotionally charged cases. To say that I was pre-occupied with work last week would be an understatement.

On Saturday morning I ran a few errands in a local shopping center. When I had finished my errands I walked in the TJ Maxx store located in the same shopping center.  There was nothing I needed to purchase, I just planned on strolling through the store and browsing. As I walked through the store, looking at different items, thoughts about work seemed to float away.

About ten minutes after I entered the store, I ran into a friend. After making some small talk, I asked her what was she looking for in the store.  Her response to me was, “Nothing really, just clearing my head.” As she walked away I realized that’s what I had been doing. I hadn’t really looked at any particular item with interest, I was just clearing my head.

We all need time to clear our head. I just didn’t realize that a few minutes in TJ Maxx would help. How do clear your head?

As soon as I read the title, I immediately thought of Grace Slick beating out certain lyrics that included "head" from the song, White Rabbit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl89g2SwMh4
I have a number of way that can work for me from listening to music (live at a show, or on my home or car systems), playing ball, writing, or even sitting in silence.

TJ Maxx should use your blog as a commercial. Swimming.

Depends on the time of the year in the summer definitely gardening and watering.

Surfing the net for non work related/business items. Like walking in the store and browsing, something interesting always catches my eye and burying myself into it does the trick.

Totally get it. I've done this!
Also, talking to a friend, yoga, knitting or something creative . . .
