https://connect2collaborate.wordpress.com/2016/11/10/energy-conversion-post-election/ my latest blog piece contains my views today on how to be productive and get positive in a negative environment.
I feel everyone needs to relax and see give the future a chance. Look at how Wall Street reacted in the last 24 hours. Predictions of an 800 point drop and the market on it's way to a crash. At last look we ended the day up near record levels. Hype, media panic and fear are our worst enemies.
Yes. Lots of fear and misinformation floating around on all sides. Let's try to go forward with compassion and understanding of others points of view. Logic and reason, without making it personal. Think Tom Brady and Gisele! (I'm about to use the election in my college business class to complete our unit on Emotional Intelligence! It will either be a huge success - or . . . !! Hoping for the best! Academia is a bit of a bloodbath these days.)
Like Fred, I've been thinking about Reagan also. I was in college and that was my first presidential election. I was DEVESTATED when he won. I thought it was the end of the world. But we all survived.
Similar feelings now. But, hopefully, things will calm down and move forward. If not, in four years. . .
as if things aren't bad enough, Leonard Cohen has left us this week; maybe he was onto something but this is when we especially need his kindness, wisdom and humanity.
