You're a YouTube Star

Years ago, I blogged about the sneaker phenomenon overtaking young teens. The craze that had (and likely still has) young men waiting in line with satchels filled with used, worn sneakers waiting to sell them for profit.

Today’s blog is about a more recent phenomenon that has me similarly confused. We all know (or at least I do) some teenage boys who are more than mildly obsessed with gaming. You know, where the game takes on monstrous proportions, overtaking for a period all else around.

Recently I learned about some ultra-proficient gamers who post videos playing games so that other gamers can watch and learn from their strategy. I learned from my son that the better gamers make money sharing these talents on YouTube.

Who knew.

I missed out on all of this, but think of the time I've saved...

Who remembers Prodigy Services? I worked for the company as a Sr Financial Analyst. When the tech guys created a new game, they would ask the employees to 'test' it. I learned quickly how easily I could become addicted and stop volunteering to beta test the games. LOL
