Big Sexy is the affectionate ironic nickname pinned on the Mets 43 year old 285 pound pitcher Bartolo Colon who has been the winning pitcher in 230 big league games in a MLB career which started in the last century (1997).

That's a lot to say about an ever smiling Dominican man who has become the people's choice. 

He can do no wrong!

He just has this wonderful easy rider way about him as he cheerfully goes about his business. 

What's more, I recently predicted on our Sportstalk list serve that he will win 300 games by the time he is 50 and earn consideration for Baseball's hallowed Hall of Fame.

I should know.  I'm still pitching at an even more venerable age.

Who is the great roll model Benjamin? Fred or Bartolo ? Big Bart came up with Cleveland in 1997 . He gets better with age and is a former Cy Young winner . 2005 with Angels !I remember him beating Andy Pettitte and the Yankees in game #3 of the ALCS in 1998 and thinking ....."this guy is scary!" And indeed he is . He smacked his first home run this year at Petco and drew his first walk on a 3-2 count last week . Eternal youth . An unhittable 88 mph fastball no less . This guy is a classic as is the 75 year old pitcher who authors this blog . The bigs are always looking for southpaws with that pizazz Fred . Call Cashman . You can take Sabathia's spot . Former teammate of Colon.
