A Letter From Camp

Categories

Last week our 9 year old grandson sent home the following letter:

Dear Mom,
At challenge course I fell on a rock on my hand. At soccer, I got tackled like in tackle football and got kicked in the face. I don't know will happen in the next 3 periods. How are you doing?

Perfect!

Brilliant!

His perception of life is brilliant.
And he wrote a letter.
How long until he can chair a Gotham group?

My now 9 year old Joe (who's birthday is today) is at sleep away camp for the first time. We have not received a letter yet but are hopeful for one soon (the campers are required to write one a week and it's been a week). We are part of a Family Circle photo site and get several pictures of the campers in various activities every few days. We do get to make a one time call today as a it's his birthday, so we look forward to that. Letters would be glorious. Keep them forever.

I went to camp once.... It was called The Navy ! In the Navy I got to swim in such cold water that I lost my penis . I got to take a dump right in front of everybody else ! I got to sleep in a big room called a barracks where every body farted at once . I got to eat breakfast at 3:30 in the morning . I did push ups with someone screaming in my ear . I got to be friends with guys from Idaho who wet their bed ! I sometimes stayed awake for 36 hours. I still dream of camp !

Boys. . . Not the type of letter we used to get from my daughter from sleep away camp.

Sounds like he is having fun! If there was a real problem, the camp would have contacted you! Hope you are having a fun summer as an empty nester!
