Jealousy

Categories
Lifestyle

Jealousy is defined as feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success or advantages.

I think it's only human to be jealous.  And I admit to having harbored that feeling many times over my life. However, for whatever the reason, as I get older I seem to suffer those pangs far less often.

Maybe jealousy springs from my competitive nature and maybe it fuels my ceaseless drive, but it is nothing to be proud about.

Jealousy is complicated and multi dimensional. It can be about a person, a job, money, athletic prowess, physical beauty or intectual strength - over a person in a relationship. It's not fun

Jealousy is a human trait, one that breeds competition. That can lead to both positive and negative results. But I believe as you get older, there is less to be jealous or competitive about towards others. The shift tends to go inward towards yourself. That is when we either become content or drive to try new things. It is ultimately our choice which way we go.

I get travel envy when someone is traveling to a place I would like to go to. Does that count?

No Rona travel envy is not jealousy. Ugh Fred how do you come up with this stuff ? Jealousy is insidious and there is nothing positive about it . People kill over it. Self esteem and jealousy vary inversely. Trust and jealousy vary inversely . Judy is right . It's so complicated. There is a level of emotional maturity involved . If you break it down it's a debilitating emotion. Nothing positive and mostly irrational ! Spare me .....I'm too occupied to spend time there and have "bigger fish to fry !" It can eat you alive if you let it !

I have always felt jealousy was a wasted emotion. Sometimes it can't be helped. We all experience it, for better or for worse...as long as it does not consume you---it's like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.
