Battle of the Bands (Gotham Magic)

On Sunday we will enjoy our fourth annual Battle of the Bands. Each year this musical competition improves and I am proud to say that Sunday's venue is the iconic Greenwich Village Cafe Wha?.  Yes, where Dylan and Jimi had their starts.  We owe the honor of playing there to part owner William Skody (Co Chair of our Make A Difference Group).  Thank you again and again.

The inception of the Battle is a classic Gotham story which helps define who we are.  Nancy and I were having a drink with Gothamite Robert Levin at the Friars Club one night and I noticed he was unusually energized-lit up, if you will.  I noted my observation and asked Robert if there was an explanation and he said he had just come from band practice (he's a Bass player).

I can't explain it, but the next words out of my mouth were, without forethought, "We're having a Battle of the Bands".  And we have and we will!  Thank you Gotham Entertainment Chair Norm Spizz and his Committee for making it happen.

Just another instance of our special Gotham magic!

"If you give them a stage, they will come." We have the players-a great crowd makes it perfect. Join us for a great afternoon of music and fun in the village.
