It's all relative

1 inch of snow in D.C. compares with 6 inches here in NY which compare with 3 feet in Buffalo.

Having lived in Buffalo for 4 years and experienced a winter storm where 192" fell, the one passing through our area today that they've named Jonas, in my mind, is cute. By my estimation we'll get around 6-10 inches. Not a big deal for me.

However, it is a really good day to start a fire, grab a book and enjoy the coziness. If you don't have a fireplace, open your computer, laptop or phone and click here to experience a very nice 8 hour crackling fire...and you don't have to put any wood in it!

Enjoy and stay safe, warm and cozy today.

Mitch I lived three years in Minneapolis, one year it never went above 0% all January and went down to -47 long before wind chill, not to mention the 12 ft. of snow. Oh by the way the schools were closed for two days that month.

I love the idea. Using my Apple TV to create the virtual fireplace off my big screen here in my office. I'll post a pic. I did not go out this morning but it seems to measure at least 18' so far here in NEQ. I remain more concerned about coastal flooding. It might be cool to tweet the fireplace link (or re-tweet if webmaster already did so). Thanks for the link.

My daughter is in Buffalo. So strange that, for the first time, we have more snow than they do.
