There was a crowd on the platform but the train was sitting in the station with the doors open. It was obvious that something was going on inside one of the cars since handfuls of MTA workers were hovering inside and around. No one seemed particularly anxious but something bad was going down.    

Nancy and I had an interesting conversation last week. She told me that she and her husband had decided to take piano lessons. When I asked “Why?” her response was, “Why not?”  

Friday’s Times opinion page contained a column with an interesting title, “The Moral Indecency of the Away Message.” I only use a permanent away message for my AOL account which I elected not to regularly use almost a decade ago. I changed in a point of personal pique.

No wonder Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is our richest billionaire (pre divorce)! One of my quirks is that I save credit card chits and check them against my monthly credit card bills.  We have a Master Card and an American Express card.  While going through this ritual I noticed that each account had a charge for Amazon Prime.   

I must have seen the commercial a dozen times. Recently, it has taken on new meaning. In addition to discovering ancestry, the tests offer meaningful insight into genetic tendencies for illnesses. My apprehension about genetic testing is under internal review. Is it the next generation of diagnostics? But questions remain....and.... Do I want to know?

  Who’s your Muppet?   Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities. It is considered to be an innate tendency of human psychology to give human traits to our non-human friends. It’s slightly different than personification.  

    Here goes my annual tradition. I’m not a huge football fan but I watch the Super Bowl every year, mostly for the commercials (and the half time show). I tried to come up with my top five commercial list -- but I wound up with six. So here goes! My 2019 Superbowl most memorable commercial list in no particular order.
