Heart, Character and love

Yesterday, a woman in my wife's office lost a young baby to SIDS after about 3 or so weeks.  I am not blogging about this for sympathy or condolences.  I only know her briefly as a co-worker of my wife.  I can't imagine a much more horrific scenario in life.  I do not need comments for this blog, I simply wanted to state in public how incredible and impressive my wife is.  She took the phone call from the overcome-with-grief mother who was informing her and her office as to what had happened earlier that morning, reaching out to whomever she could fruitlessly cling.  She is the one who who (barely) kept her stuff together while she helped the other people in the department try to keep their stuff together.  If you haven't met her, she is one of the most wonderful people I've ever known and I couldn't be more proud to be her husband.  Have a good day and hold close the thoughts of those you love.

Likewise, I am amazed at how my wife is able to handle real life & death situations, and speak with patients' families with compassion & candor.

My wife of 48 years sustains us with all her heart, love and character. Anyone who knows Joanne recognizes that I am a lucky man as "Love is all there is"!

Thanks for sharing with us her special strengths. You must be very proud and fortunate to have her in your life as indeed Fred and Vikram are!
