A Saturday Date

A Saturday Date

We planned this day months ago to be a special occasion celebration.   Bill and I really enjoy local theatre, especially musical theatre. We have so many choices here on Long Island.

We had tickets to Camelot, which neither of us had seen before.  And, we made reservations in a special occasion restaurant nearby that I had really wanted to try.

Sounds fun, right? It was. But here is the point of my story.

Most of our family occasions fall at the end of one year/beginning of the next.  As we were getting ready, I (slightly sheepishly – but only slightly) asked Bill if he remembered what we were celebrating.  He burst out laughing, admitting he didn’t know either.

And off we went for a day of unspecified celebration, but celebration, nonetheless.

When we arrived at the restaurant to check in with the host, she took our name -- and proceeded to wish us a "Happy Anniversary".  I must have included our special occasion with the reservation.  And we both burst out laughing again.

We are currently on a cruise. Our Anniversary is in July, but we added in our plans to celebrate when we booked the ceuise. So, yes, long forgotten, we were treated to several well wishes from staff and some special desserts. It made my wife and I laugh as we planned the trip many months ago and long forgotten.
