How Do You Take It?

Everyone takes their coffee or tea a different way. In the fall and the winter, I have hot coffee with an artificial sweetener and, if I’m home I will probably put in a flavored creamer. My husband, on the other hand, will generally only drink on Sunday mornings. For him, I add a scoop of hot chocolate mix (his personal favorite is Godiva) as well as creamer.

The moment the weather becomes slightly warm, I switch to iced coffee, prepared the same way. My husband will never drink his coffee iced. As soon as there is a slight chill in the air, I am immediately back to hot coffee.

I also drink tea. When I ma drinking hot tea, it has to be with milk.  If I am drinking iced tea, there’s no milk only some sweetener.

How do you take your drink of choice?

Mostly black, sometimes with some Stevia, if it's a really strong brew. I like it either really hot or iced. No sweetener for tea, hot or iced.

My drink of choice is Bourbon neat ... all year the same way. But when it comes to coffee - black most of the time unless I am having Cuban Coffee which is con leche y pequito de azucar. After a long run I like iced with a little milk. So I'm with you - change it up to fit the circumstance.

I Love coffee, have at least 8 types home @ all times and have been to multiple plantations (Costa Rica, Colombia etc).My family has a unique relationship w coffee as my mother and I experiment combining iced coffee flavors. For me it's iced coffee all year round! Mom drinks both. People ask, why do you drink iced in the winter?" My retort is why do you drink hot in the summer. Fact is, iced coffee now outselling hot coffee at Starbucks (I do not go there, just sayin). Unless baking (am learning how during covid) I don't add sugar to anything and other than pizza (and cannolli) I go dairy free so almond or oat milk with my iced coffee on the daily. Currently mixing Seattle's Best w a Colombian medium roast.

We love our coffee. It was in our wedding vows lol. It was always hot with half-and-half, but recently we are experimenting with coconut milk. One of my favorite things in the world is that Paul brings me coffee in bed to get my day going when he gets up first. He is the brewmaster. Good dark Sumatra, Colombian etc. Never iced. Never sweet.

On the weekends, when I have time, I French Press my coffee. We have various different types of coffee from Hawaii. So much better than our roasts.
