Doughnuts

I'm not really a doughut guy. I don't take trips to Dunkin' or buy Crispy Cremes but a local coffee shop called COCO Confections and Coffee (the owner Terry is in the picture) near my house in Sea Cliff has some very special treats on the weekend.

A young woman named Shannon makes doughnuts from scratch and sells them at the store. There's always a small but great selection; Boston creme, Nutella, jelly, glazed and several more I'm forgetting. They also sell great coffee, homemade chocolate and the only place I know that uses actual chocolate in their hot chocolate. What a concept ;-)

If you stop by Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, tell Shannon I say hello. You may even catch me having a coffee and one of her tasty pastries.

I love a good donut, but not usually from the mass market places. They may be one of the worst things you can eat with their refined sugar, flour and often burnt oil. But a good donut from an independent shop can be a satisfying treat

How much did Shannon pay for the plug or did it get you free donuts
