A Movie Tradition

Our evening of Chinese food and a family movie will quickly be upon us, complete with at least half of my children.

We have already started the conversation not only about which take out restaurant will be our "go to",  but also our choice of movies.

I had a conversation with a client today and we wandered into talking about an old Robert DeNiro movie, Cape Fear.  I haven’t seen it but he thought it was great although apparently not a recommendation for our family movie night.  A couple of weeks ago, we watched the recent version of West Side Story.  We always enjoy a musical.

So, I turn to all of you.  Any recommendations for us? What is your favorite movie – current or past?

And wishing everyone in Gothamland a wonderful holiday season!

We recently saw, "Don't Worry Darling." It had a very mixed response but definitely though provoking

So many to choose from!! I love foreign films so here are a few feel-good films that you can match with the cuisine.
A Yak in the Classroom – Buhtanese / absolutely magnificent scenery and a very relatable story
Yeh Ballet – Indian original Netflix film about Mumbai teens and Israeli ballet teacher
Dancing Queens –Swedish “dramedy” about a young female classical ballet dancer and her career starts in a drag troupe. Have fun!!!
Daniel Schwartz

Classics: It's a Wonderful Life. Appropriate Action: Diehard 2. Newer Action: I really liked Maverick Top Gun 2. I just watched "Won't you be my Neighbor - The Fred Rodgers Documentary" Not the Tom Hanks film, but the 2018 production of actual clips and background. Very interesting and really showed how he got through to both children and adults.
ODEY RAVIV

Cape Fear is more Halloween than Xmas. Musical idea is Tick Tick Boom. It’s about the composer of Rent.
Andrew Garfield is great as the star.
Scott Bloom

Home Alone is a top Xmas fave. How about Rocky 2?

As for classic movie you may not have seen: 12 Angry Men
Tessa Marquis

The Shop around the Corner
Ernst Lubitsch film with Jimmy Steward and a wonderful supporting cast of "characters"
