Old Habits

I worked late last night which meant that I was surfing Grubhub for dinner.

All good.  Dinner ordered and back to work.  When the lobby called, I went down to pick up that dinner, said hello to the nice gentleman behind our desk in the lobby and headed back upstairs.

And now here is the point of my story.  When I was comfortably leaning on the inside wall of the elevator, hands occupied by holding dinner, I pushed the button for our floor.

Fifteen.  Right?  Wrong!

We moved from the 15th floor to the 13th floor of our building almost ten years ago.  Over the years I have found the 15 reflex to be strong.  But at almost the ten year mark, one would think that that reflex might wane.

Apparently not.

I was told that is not unusual, like Fred old habits are hard to break.

Like driving the same route, your mind can wonder into another world, yet you still find yourself home before you know it. Imprinting is powerful.
