A minute goes by

Yesterday was the longest day of the year. A fitting day for Fred's blog.

Now we lose a minute of sunlight every day till the winter soltice even though we are entering the blazing days of summer. I don't know about you but I really don't notice it.

Life seemingly is a little like sipping tea. In general, changes occur subtley, over time with no notice until one morning you wake up and it's dark outside or the cup is empty.

Sipping seems to be more enjoyable than taking big gulps. When you sip, you tend to enjoy the richness and the flavors a bit more. Taking a big gulp can burn your tongue and bloat your belly. Be careful out there :-)

Every night when I realize it's still light out, I savor the moment and try to commit it to memory to recall when it's dark by 4:30 in the winter. I love this time of year. Every moment counts.

I echo Phyllis's sentiments---something about the longer days is very comfortable.
Kelly Welles

One of the many dividends of longer days is the ability to take evening walks to the song of the lark, listen to the nocturnal sounds of crickets or cicadas, savor barbecued delights and be awed by he midnight skies of August with its shooting stars amidst the familiar symbols of the Big and Little Dipper, Venus, waring Mars.

Love the metaphor. I also love walking out of the office at night to sunshine. It just gives me a smile.
