Closing up shop

Besides my usual basketball game, this weekend I needed to attend to some seasonal chores.

I covered the air living room conditioner and covering various bedroom air conditioners, and in my home office/ study one casement window and the air conditioner.

Since I still like to “sneak” out to use the deck to read the morning papers or on weekend (Hoodies serve me fine.), I try to wait until after we carve the turkey to shut down the deck until the spring.

How early or late do you close up shop AKA winterize or shut down the outside?

We just emptied and cleaned the fountain, but otherwise we are out on the terrace 365 days.

Our pool has been closed for a month now. The true sign that winter is upon us.

I took my last window AC in last weekend. Shampooed all the carpets today and changed out the Hepa filters, usually the pre-holiday chores that marks the next season.

Half way through. My turning point is when the temp outside hits 40º, I'm entitled to start the fire and fill the wood rack.
