The best Situation Comedies reflect the times and make us think about circumstances and experiences beyond our reality. A rating of the top 100 SCs in Rolling Stone covered a lot of territory.
Years past, I scheduled the day off every Halloween. Trick-or-treating was always a highlight. Our neighborhood used to swarm with kids and we loved being part of the swarm.
I’ve been playing around with the thought for several years. Last week I finally committed to it. I bought a journal. I bought it at Weight Watchers so, a part of the reason for the journal is for me to record and review my eating and wellness habits. Which I did this past week and noticed some interesting habits.
At Gotham Happy Hour I shared something about today’s Gotham blog. Friday’s blogger remarked nice to not discuss my outside office (he used a different term!). Well I did go there but only to retrieve the coffee pot so Shelly’s brew could remain in the thermal pot parked inside the kitchen-based coffeemaker. And I still found some time for yardwork, albeit out front. What occurred today (see pic at upper left) involved a tattoo.
True story...
An employee refused to come into work because his girlfriend hadn't washed his socks. The scaffolder contacted his boss to say that he just couldn't make it in. He tweeted: "I can't come in I can't find any f****** socks she ain't washed f*** all so ain't got nuffin and can't where none because boots got big holes in ffs soz buddy van keys in that box in shelter again."
Mmmm, I wonder what's next...underwear?
It amazes me that so many people are reluctant or afraid to be vaccinated. Or have other ill advised reasons. We are suffering an ongoing worldwide Pandemic and all the science points to vaccination being the path to herd immunity . And we are so fortunate that vaccinations are available (and free to boot).
Being of a certain age, we were in the first wave of vaccinations and were fortunate to have received the Moderna vaccine which has the highest efficacy.
We recently heard of a disruption during dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. The incident, in which a diner complained to the annoyance of many people around him, was over a condiment that was simply mot available that evening.
It seems that movies, shows, plays, museums, gardens, and parks are always hyped as being “can’t miss”. I had heard for years about the Green-Wood Cemetery as a place that I had to visit. I was not motivated because I really did not know what all the fuss was about. A week ago, I finally took the plunge.
