My name is Richard Carlton, M.D.  I'm a member of Gotham's Health and
Longevity group.

Announcing that NYU Langone has invited me to give a presentation on the
benefits (and limitations) of CBD and Medical Cannabis.

The talk will take place on Monday Sept. 23^rd at 6:00 pm. The address
at NYU is 550 1^st Ave (at 31^st Street), Founders Hall B.

It’s part of NYU’s Cardiac Prevention series, and these talks are open
to the general public.

You can just walk in, but if you know in advance that you’ll be coming
they would appreciate your letting them know – so that they’ll have a
sense of how many people might come to the reception. You can let them
know by phone at 646-501-2190, or by email at hearthealth at nyulangone.org
<mailto:hearthealth at nyulangone.org>

I’m an Integrative Psychiatrist with 45 years’ experience using natural,
non-drug approaches to treating psychiatric as well as medical problems.

A quick example of my approach: One of Gotham’s leaders came to see me
because her blood pressure had been remaining dangerously high despite
the four cardiac meds she was on. I encouraged her to eat beets and beet
powder, because these allow blood vessels to dilate - which in turn
lowers resistance in the vessels. Her blood pressure promptly came down
10 points. Happy camper. BTW, this particular approach is the logical
"medical translation" of the discovery that nitric oxide is a
neurotransmitter, that it controls the tone of blood vessels, and that
certain foods (like beets) can increase its production. The scientist
who did the core work on this won the Nobel Prize for his discovery.

I prescribe Medical Cannabis, and have seen numerous successful outcomes.

For people who are just looking for CBD (not THC), I guide them to
brands that I know to be trustworthy (organic) as well as reliable (that
is, that actually contain the amounts of CBD stated on the label).

The ideal referrals for me are:

1. People who want to explore natural approaches to their health issues
(whether psychiatric or medical).

2. People who want a second opinion, and would like a discussion with a
physician who thinks outside the box, has a great Rolodex, and allots
enough time to think deeply about the issues.

I accept regular Medicare.

I have offices in Midtown (on W. 34^th Street), and in Port Washington.

If you’d like to contact me, call on my cell at 917-697-423. If by
email, you’ll get a faster response by using my personal email (rather
than my Gotham email): rcarltonmd at gmail.com <mailto:rcarltonmd at gmail.com>

See the attached flyer about the NYU event. If you go, please come up
and introduce yourself to me.
