[Fredslist] Need Japanese translation

HI Gothamites:

I have a series of old (circa 1940’s) water color paintings inscribed with Japanese on the back. It’s been handed down from my Grandfather who spent time over there during the war. We have some family stories surrounding his time in Japan and my Sister and I wonder if these paintings are part of that.

I tried Google translate with no success. If you or anyone you know can read Japanese and can help, it would be appreciated.
