[Fredslist] East End Construction Litigator Needed

Gotham –

My brother David is a litigator in Chicago and he has an important client (out of Florida) who needs assistance with a case regarding a high end home in the Hamptons. The client hired a general contractor to do work on the home.  The client and my brother assert that the contractor defrauded her by obtaining hundreds of thousands of dollars by misrepresenting the fact that he paid subcontractors when he did not.  The contractor walked off the job in breach of the parties’ contract and converted significant items of the client’s property.  My brother and the client are looking to file an action against the contractor, his related company and the individual owners of the contractor for fraud, conversion, and breach of contract.

Because the client resides in Florida they are thinking about bringing the action in the EDNY  - Islip, but they may need to litigate in NYS Supreme out there as well.

All recommendations are appreciated.
