[Fredslist] Golf Outing soloist "herds" his band for Gotham's 2nd Battle of the Bands, March 16

Gotham's 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands takes place next Sunday, March 16 at the Martin Luther School in Maspeth (please scroll down for more details).
Among the eight contestants,  The Bassanettes. 
Read about them below.  
You can hear and see them play on Sunday.  
Check them and the other seven contestants out.
I need your help.  As a BOTB judge, audience reaction is just one of the measures that can influence the decisions of the distinguished panel on which I participate.  So please attend.   
Band leader Larry Bassen graces us with his solo playing of covers at our Annual Golf Outings and he has a great Allman Bros. story (so apropos in a month when the Allmans "own" the Beacon -- anyone besides me attending?) to share.

The Bassenettes

Welcome to the world of The Bassenettes, so named because of the brother-sister team of Larry and Willa Bassen, founders of the group. The band grew up during the golden age of classic rock and has been playing together for more than thirty years. During that time, all the members of the band have amassed an impressive array of accomplishments:
Willa Bassen
(keyboards, vocals)
Willa is both an accomplished musician and composer. She has worked with Keith Richards, Run-DMC, Rick Finch of K.C. and the Sunshine Band and Harry Connick, Jr. She has composed music for the John Water's film, "Hairspray", ABC and NBC Sports, the Olympics, and the critically acclaimed independent film, "Spanking the Monkey". She has had two releases as an artist on President Records, "I'm Going Nowhere" and "Gotta Go-Go".
Larry Bassen
(guitar, bass, vocals)
Larry is the founder of Larry Bassen Entertainment. He has been playing professionally at private functions since the age of 13. Larry's unique ability to motivate a crowd comes from having performed at over 5,000 parties! He has also performed as lead guitarist for Tommy James at such venues as Westbury Music Fair and Riverside Stadium in Portland, Oregon
Pat Adkins
(drums, vocals)
Pat has been performing all his life. At the age of 6, he was an Elvis impersonator. By 11, he was appearing on local TV as "The Boy With The Golden Voice", and by 12 he was fronting an R&B band in nightclubs. He has performed with such legends as B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Stephen Stills, Bo Diddley, Gary U.S. Bonds, and Little Richard in Madison Square Garden, Radio City and Central Park.
Danny Begelman
(guitar, bass, vocals)
Danny has played guitar in the Broadway show "Dreamgirls" and has been musical director for oldies rock and roll shows at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Westbury Music Fair. He has worked with such notable musicians as Jack Bruce of Cream, Lenny White of Chick Corea's Return To Forever and Edgar Winter. As a music transcriber he has arranged more than 100 guitar books and has recently authored an instructional book on playing the 7-string guitar. His original music has been aired on major network shows including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Individually they are impressive. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. Daring to defy demographics and follow their hearts, their original music is too varied to be categorized, but always committed to rock, rock, rock and roll!
