[Fredslist] Volunteer CPA Needed (Great Networking Opportunity)

NYC Business Solutions is a program that my former company runs in Lower
Manhattan (defined as everything below 42nd Street). The Lower Manhattan
Center helps small businesses and entrepreneurs start, operate, and expand
in New York City. They have a network of CPAs and attorneys that set up
free 30 minute consultations (these are usually done at the volunteer's
office). Most of the clients are pre-startup businesses, however, many are
start-up and operating businesses as well. The client signs a waiver and
then the CPA provides a consultation, which is scheduled through an online
booking system. Lower Manhattan Center is currently seeking more
volunteers. This is a fantastic opportunity to affiliate yourself with the
NYC Department of Small Business Services, perform a public service, and
generate potential leads for future business. While the point is to not
sell your services to clients, some do end up hiring the CPAs and attorneys
that volunteer. It has a very Gotham spirit to it. If your office is
located below 42nd Street, this is for you.
