[Fredslist] book recommendation needed

Hi All,
 
    I need recommendations for a book for a 16 yr old  girl.  I don't get 
the feeling she's the Jane Austen type.  She's  a high school junior and is 
thinking of studying business or something  related in college, for whatever 
it's worth - but I'm thinking fiction here, so  that may be irrelevant.  Or 
maybe an interesting biography of a  woman.  I'd avoid anything risque as 
she's from a fairly conservative  (not religious) albeit very sweet family.
