Join the Financial Women's Association for an evening of networking and a presentation examining Healthcare Reform. The effects on all US citizens and legal residents and employers will be explored, by Jamie F. Gross, J.D., LL.M., a member of Deloitte's Global Employer Services tax practice, and Barbara Gniewek, a Principal and national health care industry leader in Deloitte Consulting LLP's Human Capital Advisory Services practice.
Speaker's Profile 

Jamie is a Senior Manager in the Global Employer Services tax practice of Deloitte Tax, LLP, She has experience in employee benefits focusing on the design, drafting and implementation of qualified and nonqualified plans. Ms. Gross specializes in employee benefits regulatory compliance and health and welfare design and compliance. Ms. Gross assists clients with qualified plan design and implementation focusing on plan amendments and restatements for compliance with legislative changes such as GUST and EGTRRA. In addition, Ms. Gross also assists clients with ERISA reporting requirements including Form 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, and ERISA 204(h) notices. She also helps to assist clients in qualified plan submissions to the IRS for determination on qualified status of plans. Ms. Gross assists clients with health and welfare plan design, implementation, and compliance with a focus on HIPAA privacy regulations, DOL claims procedure regulations, and summary plan description regulations. Ms. Gross conducts HIPAA privacy seminars for clients focusing on workforce training in privacy regulations.

Ms. Gross received her J.D. from New England School of Law and her LL.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law. Ms. Gross is a member of the State Bar of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Barbara P. Gniewek
Principal
Deloitte Consulting's Human Capital

Ms. Gniewek is a Principal in Deloitte Consulting's Human Capital practice based in Parsippany New Jersey. Ms. Gniewek has a broad health care consulting background and provides health care consulting services to both providers and purchasers of health care plans. Barbara's consulting focus is on creative plan design options, financing alternatives, communication, and administration of group health, dental, pharmacy, disability and life programs, with particular emphasis on cost-savings strategies. She also provides insurance companies with operational improvement (claims, customer service, underwriting and HR) and product development expertise, and has provided turn-around management services for HMOs. She is also heads the national Health care Operational Excellence services team, and is part of our Health Care Reform and Consumer Driven Healthcare initiatives.

Current and past clients have included: New York State Nurses Association, Chrysler, IBM, General Electric, Aetna, Excellus, Prudential, Horizon BCBS, Tufts Health Plan.

Ms. Gniewek has over 20 years of health care consulting experience. Prior to joining Deloitte, she was the practice leader of KPMG's health care benefit consulting practice in New York City, and also spent six years at William M. Mercer Inc. Ms. Gniewek holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Denison University. She has published articles on several topics including Health Care Reform, Claim Auditing, Quality of Health Care, Operational Excellence, Creative Solutions to Rising Health Care Costs and Consumer Driven Healthcare.
