[Fredslist] Gotham's Peer Coaching Program

Last night was another of those great and really valuable Gotham
benefits with Jane Mahoney’s introduction and orientation of Gorham’s
Peer Coaching program, which is an evolutionary step in its mentoring
program. Recognizing that mentoring has a one-direction learning
perspective, and that Gotham's knowledge resources are vast, a next
step the mentoring program made sense. The idea of peer coaching is
that people on both sides of the table have something to learn from
each other. It was Benjamin Franklin who said, “An investment in
knowledge always pays the best interest.”

Deidre Siegel is coordinating the program and Jane provided superb
training of coaching skills and techniques. Jane is a significant
resource to Gotham with her talent as a trainer, coach, and
facilitator. The program is a gem of Gotham, and if you are not
participating you are neglecting a valuable benefit of belonging to
Gotham. I may be bias, but firmly believe the world is too complex to
be a lone ranger – and by seeing who was there last night it verified
that if you want to be a serious contender you don't do it alone, you
have a coach.
