[Fredslist] Volunteering Christmas Day

Hi Mitchell...and anyone else who might be interested in volunteering,

How about "Meals On Wheels" or "God's Love We Deliver"?  I've known housebound people who await their food deliveries with huge anticipation.  Most often that one meal is the equivalent of two. Sometimes that delivery is the only human contact or conversation they have in a day.

I have a friend who helps out at The Bowery Mission but I believe that they have a waiting list of volunteers.  Many churches provide Christmas dinners on-site and might need additional help.

Personally, I've always found volunteering to be extremely rewarding...that old circle: when you give, you receive.
