The below is from a heavy hitter who is looking to enter the creative
broadcasting arena and who might be just who someone we know is looking
for.

Gotham Networking luncheon - Jun 7
Hello Fred,
It was a pleasure meeting you at the Friar’s Club during the Gotham
Networking luncheon. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you are
enjoying the sunshine!
As you are aware, I recently left an advertising sales management position
at ESPN where I handled an account list consisting of top Fortune 500
Companies which included Nike, Mazda, Sprint and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals with
sales revenue/billing totaling $94 Million. I have 16+ years of Advertising
experience and 1 year of Corporate Banking experience as well as a
Bachelor’s Degree with a double concentration in Finance and Human Resource
Management from Boston College.
I am a highly motivated and seasoned salesperson who is making the
transition from National Television Advertising Sales to Children’s
Television Programming. I am a self-starter who has, over the course of my
career, had the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including
television programming and production, event marketing, operations and
management and, as previously mentioned, television advertising sales.
After years of working in a non-creative environment, I am compelled to
explore the creative arena. My goal is do more creative work such as write,
direct and produce children’s television programming. This revelation is a
result of spending quite a bit of time with my 26-month old niece and
realizing that there is either very good or very bad programming out there.
Although I do not possess actual “practical” experience in Children’s
Television Programming and Production, I believe that my creativity, superb
interpersonal skills, strong presentation and writing skills and
intellectual ability are equally important as “actual” experience. (As a
child, I enjoyed writing short stories and had written a “script” for a
play – based on a popular television show at the time).
Attached is my resume as promised. I would appreciate any help that you can
provide and look forward to connecting with those in the network who you
feel may be appropriate.
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Cristina Abella
